| Product Enhancement Optimizing Equipment Operation Proportional hydraulic controls Proportional hydraulic controls offer an alternative to two speed circuits. Proportional valves use an analog electrical signal to control the displacement of the valve spool and the resulting flow. This provides smooth acceleration by continuously increasing flow until the desired peak speed is reached. Using proportional controls, the speed and smoothness of operation are not determined by whomever is "operating" the cuber at the time. The acceleration, peak speed and deceleration rates are all programmed in the equipment controls. Once a program is tailored for a product, it can be repeated in the future. This provides consistent operation and eliminates tampering with manual flow controls. Proportional hydraulic controls are currently available as an option on Patternmaker Bar Conveyors, Overhead Side Feed Drives, Cuber Carriage Drives and Cuber and can be retrofitted to many existing pieces of equipment.
