The number of Master Blockmakers continues to increase as more Blockmaker Workshops® are completed at the new World Center for Concrete Technology in Alpena, Michigan. During the Specialty Products course held during the last week of June, one person earned Master Blockmaker certification.

Jose Luis Jaquez of Hoyo de Lima Industrial CA in Santiago, Dominican Republic achieved Master Blockmaker certification. Jose is the first person from Hoyo de Lima Industrial to receive this prestigious award.

Blockmakers Workshops originated in 1954 to assist in developing qualified professionals in the concrete products industry. The workshops are a joint partnership between the new World Center for Concrete Technology, Alpena Community College and Besser Company. All Master Blockmakers have successfully completed five predetermined courses that prepare each individual in the efficient and effective production of quality concrete products.
